About David Malecki

I am a coffee-fueled strategist with a passion for multimedia production, digital marketing, and brand storytelling. With a strong background in visual media, advertising, and marketing strategy, I blend creativity with a results-driven mindset to craft compelling narratives that drive engagement and sales.

 

Currently, I oversee all social media for Swilled Dog, a premium spirits brand, and support the newly launched Committed Spirits company, focusing on bringing bourbons to NIL collectives and other meaningful causes. My role involves developing and executing marketing strategies, enhancing online e-commerce presence, and creating high-quality visual and written content to elevate brand awareness and customer engagement.

Previously, I earned a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University, where I gained a deep understanding of strategic marketing, digital media, and consumer behavior. During my time at WVU, I worked as a graduate assistant for the University Relations creative team, capturing and producing photography and social media content for university events, sports, and campus life. I also served as a Teaching Assistant for an advanced advertising course in partnership with Merkley + Partners in NYC.

 

Beyond my full-time role, I have experience in freelance multimedia production, including prior work for Primoprint and Orthos Liquid Systems. My diverse background—spanning advertising, content creation, and digital marketing—enables me to develop creative solutions that align with business goals and enhance brand positioning.

RIVER BIRCH CAFE

For a graduate-level course, I had the opportunity to create a 4-minute and 1-minute marketing video for my favorite coffee shop and rooftop bar in town. This video brought an exciting challenge, as River Birch Cafe hits all the points of a unique coffee shop: great location, unique fresh food and drink options, community charm, and a rooftop bar. However, they feel they could benefit from more WVU students.

Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation - AAFPittsburgh ThePitch

An original campaign where I led the strategy and overall direction for the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation as a part of ThePitch 2023. While they have a strong operation as a nonprofit, the client needed to get their name out more, as well as rebrand with a unifying theme and identity across social media channels. Our team worked at Fifth Influence, a cause-driven agency specializing in digital strategy and political campaigns.
